Yunxiang(Aslan) Zhang

I’m a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Chicago, advised by Robert Rand. My research focuses on applying formal methods to quantum computing and communication, with the goal of developing rigorous tools to make quantum systems more reliable. Previously, I worked with Robert Raussendorf at the University of British Columbia on measurement-based quantum computing.

In my free time, I enjoy photography and music production. I play guitar and bass, and I love jamming with friends, mostly in the post-rock style. I also play at UChicago’s Game Music Ensemble.
